Last night was the release party for my book Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog. The whole thing was in conjunction with an event called WPNight, in which I participated as a speaker, along with a couple of other excellent people from the Swedish WordPress community. Matt Mullenweg was there too, unfortunately not physically but via Skype, and he answered questions from the audience. All in all, WPNight was a nice event – if you know any Swedish be sure to check out the videos, the whole thing was recorded of course.

Did you know that Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog is an excellent way to get more out of my theme, Notes Blog Core? You do know – read more over at the Notes Blog site.
As you probably know by now, I wrote a book on WordPress. It is called Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog and now you can read more about it here. Glorious, isn’t it?
Or I dragged out of DHL rather, since they couldn’t get passed the masses of screaming fans, assassins and guards outside my apartment building. It’s hard work being a rockstar.

I already tweeted this, but I wanted to share it here also. There will be a Amazon Kindle version of my book Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog. Got it confirmed this morning, and I’m really happy about that.
I’m writing a lot, and that’s an understatement. We’re talking about tens of thousands of characters every day, at least when I’ve got a lot of freelance gigs, which I tend to have. Tight deadline force me to produce a lot of content each month, but I don’t mind, I work best when somewhat short on time. If I’m not, I’ll end up doing other things until the deadline makes me sweat. You might say I need the pressure to perform. That might not be true for you, we are all different.
I’m a Mac user and have been for years. My primary writing machine is a MacBook Air (I’ll get to my gear later), bought to write the Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog book. I absolutely adore it and won’t sell it until Apple releases a new model. Yes, it is that good. Loaded with the right kind of writing software I find it even sparks my productivity, not bad for a cold dead computer. Continued →
I was recently interviewed over at BloggingPro, an excellent site about blogging. The interview is mainly about my upcoming book, Smashing WordPress: Beyond the Blog – which looks like this and is due January 22nd in the US.
Not only do I answer questions about the book and what I think of the WordPress community, as well as the new bbPress initiative, but there’s also a giveaway where you have had a chance to win your own copy, should you not have pre-ordered already. And if you have, well, give it to someone who needs to understand the brilliance of WordPress.
In all seriousness, head over to BloggingPro and read the whole thing. It’s a nice interview, full of great answers if you ask me!
This is it, the book you’ll hopefully pre-order or at least buy when it hits the US shelves on January 22nd 2010, and the UK a few weeks after that.
More on the book later, obviously.
