I can’t believe this shit still works, because it obviously does, otherwise this kind of thing would be something else today. I’m also a bit apalled by the fact that Google let it slide through the spam filter.

A short FAQ might be in order:

I already own a previous edition, should I buy this one too?
Absolutely, and I actually really mean that. A lot of things have happened since the second and first edition of this book, and some old solutions have become obsolete. The new book also abides to the PHP code standards that WordPress have moved towards, which is important obviously.

I’m thinking of starting a blog with WordPress, will this book help me?
This book is aimed at developers and designers. It doesn’t tell you how to create posts or work with widgets. There are other books and tutorials for that.

I’m a developer, what do I need to know to use your book?
HTML, CSS, and basic knowledge of PHP is needed. If you know a thing or two about MySQL, that might help. Finally, you should take WordPress for a spin as a user before diving into this book.

This sounds awesome, but I already own a previous edition. Why won’t you just update it?
Would that I could, but there’s a lot of work in writing a new book and I do need to get paid. Also, my publisher would never allow it. Who knows what the future will hold though?

Sold! Or rather, it will be, where can I buy this book?

Do yourself a favor and shut up.

I know all too well how easy it is to start talking about a project way too early. It’s gonna be great, I just know it, and then I’ll convince anyone who’ll listen that this is the case. Most of the time they’ll believe me, I’m persuasive like that. You might be too.

The problem is when you don’t deliver. Real artists ship, you know. So keep your projects, ideas and plans to yourself and don’t start talking about them until the very last moment, ideally a bit later than that. You’ll get a nice reputation of being the one who always delivers, which will make your impact all the better.
